Solar storms- Will it mark the end of GPS

In today's navigation, almost every locomotive in world is completely dependent on the GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM. GPS is also vulnerable to outages due to GPS jamming attacks. A recent example is South Korea being victimized to the north Korea's GPS jamming program on South Korea.

Space weather: Fine, with a chance of solar flares

Astro physicists and scientists in NASA and all around the world have predicted huge solar storms in the calender year, which might lead to the complete malfunctioning of the GPS systems all around the world, and the worst affected due to lack of proper functioning GPS systems would be the shipping industry. The nation that would in turn get affected highly due to this will be United Kingdom as most of its resources are imported through ships. Authorities and responsible organizations are offering a safer alternative to GPS systems in the form of  E-LORAN.
The world is so dependent on GPS, that a powerful solar storm could rapidly cripple banks, send ships floundering on to rocks and create chaos on the roads

Normally the earth protects us  from Solar Flares but the intensity of the solar storms have been predicted to be bizarre. A solar storm has the capacity to deprive our planet of its power.

Wait, we haven't yet answered the question "WHAT IS A SOLAR STORM?"

The sun is a giant ball of gas: 92.1% hydrogen and 7.8%helium. Every now and then, it spits out a giant burst of gas that contain magnetic properties called a coronal mass ejection.

Green and white colors lit up the sky, which gave the resident of that place a once in a life time showing. Thanks to a relatively strong solar storm, people of northern united states witnessed a great happening.
