Interesting places to visit in Kuala Lumpur

Stadium Merdeka

Stadium Merdeka is one of sports stadium and was a venue for many major sporting events in Kuala Lumpur.” Merdeka” stands for indepence. It was built on the special occasion of independence of Malaysia on 31 August 1957. It has seating capacity of 20,000. We can always reach this stadium by taking KL Monarail , the Maharajalela Monarail station is located nearest to the stadium.

Batu Caves

Batu caves is a site of a Hindu temple and  limestone outcrop located just north of Kuala Lumpur. This place has a tall statue of the Lord Murugan at the entrance and stairs of 272 steps to finally view the city centre.  During the Thaipusam festival  (which falls in January or February each year) hundreds of thousands of believers will  throng to the cave, including a number who impale themselves with skewers and hooks as acts of penitence and devotion. There is also KTM train service from KLSentral to Batu Caves.

Petaling Street

This Petaling Street is open daily from 10am to 11pm. Most stalls sell pretty much the same items so it keeps repeating after a while. That means you have the chance to haggle down the prices quite a bit because of competition among the stalls. Not only that, there are also a few good shops to get Chinese food in that area. Way to get here is by getting on the Kelana Jaya Line and get down at the Pasar Seni LRT Station. After getting down at the LRT station, a short walking distance will get you to Petaling Street.
